Linens are where a guest touches the identity of a property or a yacht. Well-designed embroidery strengthens it. Careless embroidery undermines it.
Start with the cloth. In hotels and on chartered yachts, linens are washed constantly and often industrially, so wash durability matters more than at home. Choose a fabric that keeps its texture and a thread that keeps its colour after many washes.
Embroidery has to read at a small size too. Very fine detail disappears in thread, which is why a logo often needs simplifying before it is stitched. On towelling, which has a pile, embroidery needs a different approach from smooth fabric, so look at a sample before you approve. And pick one position, corner, centre or edge, for the whole set.
Think about reorders from the beginning. In a year you will need more pieces and you will want them to match the first ones. So keep:
- the embroidery file,
- the thread codes,
- the placement of the design on each item.
We offer bespoke linens with an embroidered name or logo for hotels, private spaces and yachts.
Frequently asked questions
What file is needed to embroider a logo?
Usually a clean logo file, vector if you have one. We check whether the design needs simplifying so it stitches well.
